ABOUT ME

Hi all and welcome to my blog!

 

My name is Maria and I was born 32 years ago in a colourful country in the Central Asia, Uzbekistan. Being half French and half Russian in a muslim country I was meant to grow as an open-minded citizen of the world. And I hope I managed to do that :) 

 

I have been living in Rome for more than 6 years already. Even though I have never been to this city before I came here and I never planned to stay for more than a year. So how did I end up living here? It is a very interesting and strange case, that I would probably call a destiny. 

 

As a former journalist (contributor to Harper’s Bazaar) and an editor of Conde Nast Traveller I wanted to learn a new language and get a masters in marketing. So I decided to do that in the most beautiful city of Europe (and probably the whole world!), in Rome. And that’s where my NEW chapter of life has began.

 

Since that cold March 25, 2016, when I got on a plane to Rome many things have changed. 

 

I have met Antonio (my heart), we opened two businesses together: our restaurant @agrodolce_roma in few steps from the Trevi fountain and five beautiful airbnbs in the city center. Today we have nearly 20 employees, each of whom is dear to us as a family member.

 

My blog is about travel, hotels, Rome, business and life of thirty-years-old.
